Aquagold® Q & A

What is Aquagold®?

Aquagold® Fine Touch is a skin therapy that creates microchannels in your skin and simultaneously infuses your skin with nourishing products or small amounts of popular cosmetic injectables.

Before you get an Aquagold® treatment at MUG, you talk extensively to Dr. Mug about your options for micro infusions.

Based on your most prominent skin concerns, he recommends medication for your procedure. He might suggest using Botox®, hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvéderm®, or nourishing serums for your treatment.

Dr. Mug completes the Aquagold® treatment using the patented stamping tool. On the tool is a matrix of hair-thin gold-plated needles, which puncture your skin without much resistance. Thin as they are, the needles are hollow so the product or medication can flow through them and into your tissues.

Which skin concerns can Aquagold® treat?

Aquagold® can treat lots of the most common skin concerns, including blemishes and textural issues. You should bring up the skin issues that bother you the most during your consultation, which can help guide Dr. Mug’s decision for your microinfusion products.

Be sure to mention if your concerns include:

  • Small fine lines and wrinkles
  • Large pores
  • Acne scars
  • Dryness
  • Dullness

Regardless of the medications or products you choose to apply with Aquagold®, the needles alone can benefit your skin’s structure. By damaging your skin just slightly, these gold-plated needles trigger the growth of collagen and elastin.

Collagen and elastin are two structural proteins within the skin that you tend to lose with age and excess sun exposure. They make your skin firmer and tighter.

What should I expect during my Aquagold® treatment?

Though the needles are tiny enough to minimize discomfort, you can still get topical numbing cream or ice to further minimize discomfort before you start the treatment process at MUG.

Numbing is especially critical if you plan to treat delicate areas of skin like the areas around your eyes or your lips.

You can expect the procedure to last for around 30 minutes, and there is no need for downtime to give your skin the chance to recover. You might feel like you have a mild sunburn shortly after the treatment, but any redness and irritation should go away quickly.

The time it takes to see the full result depends on the specific product or medication you include in your treatment.

Aquagold® Fine Touch has the potential to transform your skin to be radiant, smooth, and clear. To schedule a consultation at MUG, call the office or book online today.
